Coming to The US
I came to the U.S in September of 1992 from Guatemala. Guatemala always has good weather. The reason I came here is to find a better life for me and my family. My family was very sad for me to leave. I came here with my husband. My husband and I were very happy on the trip. My trip was six hours. I was nervous because I never was on airplane before. First I went to Los Angeles. In Los Angeles I stayed for two days. I brought clothes and shoes with me planned to come to the United States three months before we left. On my first day in the U.S., I saw many squirrels. In Guatemala we don’t have squirrels, only in the Zoo. On my first day in the U.S, I felt sad and tired, because I couldn’t visit my family for a long time. On my first day in the U. S., I watched TV in bed. The best thing about living here is nice houses, life, schools and jobs. In my country jobs are good bat the pay is not good. I made two dollars in one day! The worst thing about living here is my family is not here, only my husband’s family is here. I am homesick for my family in my native country, because I never separated from my mom before. I don’t miss the delinquents in my native country. I wouldn’t like to go back to my country and live there. I have been here for twenty years and I like my new life in the United States. God Bless United States.

Coming to The US
I came to the U.S. in April of 2012 from Bosnia. Bosnia is a small country in south Europe. The reason I came here is because my husband lives here. He is an auto mechanic and works part-time in an auto shop. I came here with my daughter. She is thirteen years old. My trip was twenty-five hours because I waited for a long time in the Germany airport. First I went to Philadelphia. Then I flew for four hours on a plane to Minneapolis. I brought clothes, documents and photographs with me. I planned to come to the United States .On my first day in the U.S., I saw many highways. On my first day in U.S., I feel tired. On my first day in U.S., I slept. The best thing about living here is good school for my daughter and I can find a job when I improve my English. I am homesick for my family and friends in my native country. I don’t miss the work in my native country, because my boss usually didn’t give me any money. Sometimes, I waited for two months for the money. I wouldn’t like to go back to my country and live there. I like my new life in the United States. I feel happy here.

I came to the U.S. in July of 1989 from Mexico. Mexico is a very beautiful county, the reason I came here is because life in the U.S. is good. Before, I never had a job or a car. Now I can buy stuff for my children. We can go eat to a restaurant. I came here with my friends. My trip was 20 days. First I went to Texas. Texas is a good state. I brought clothes and a little money. On my first day in the U.S., I felt happy and sad. I was sad because my parents didn’t want me to go to the U.S. On my first day in the U.S., I slept for many hours because I was tired. The best thing about living here is nice cars and nice houses. The worst thing about living here is we have to pay many bills. I am homesick for my family. I don’t miss the criminals. I wouldn’t like to go back to my native country and live there. I like my new life in the United States.
