Winter
Winter in my Country
Winter in Belarus is similar to winter in Minnesota. In my native country, winter begins in the month of December and finishes in the month of February. Winter weather in my native country is cold, but warmer than winter in Minnesota. Temperatures can be from -20 C to +9 C. It is cloudy, with much snow, and sometimes rain.
People eat different food: meat, fish, bread, butter, potatoes, milk, hot tea, coffee, vegetables and fruit to stay warm.
People in winter wear warm clothes. I like winter in my country. I like to play hockey and go skiing. I like winter in Belarus better than winter in Minnesota.
Winter Break
On December 17, 2010, we had our last day of school. Our winter break started. Lon visited family and got money as a gift. Duaa didn’t celebrate Christmas. Mai went last-minute shopping and cooked lots of food. Gisma went to a restaurant. Ivan likes winter, but Liubovi doesn’t. Liubovi was very busy. Sometimes Liubovi played snowballs with children. Alex played games. Leyla ate pizza. Ola gave money as a gift and saw a movie. Mehmed made a snowperson. Yolanda felt happy. Lilian visited friends. He was very busy and slept a lot. Senad didn’t watch TV at all. We came back to school on January 3, 2011 after our two week winter break.
