TOM –YAM-KUNG

THAILAND

Today I introduce a Thai recipe: TOM-YAM-KUNG or Hot and sour soup. They are called in Thailand. I always cook TOM-YAM-KUNG, and when I cook that soup, I have to look for the fresh of shrimp or frozen its good test.

Preparation time: 20 minutes

Cooking time: 45 minutes

Ingredients (serves 2-5 people)

10-15 shrimp

2 cups water

1 stalk (slice) lemon grass

½ chopped red onion

3 green onions

2 tbsp fresh lemon juice

1 tsp salt

2 tbsp coconut milk (optional)

2 hot peppers

Preparation

Clean shrimp and drain, take some shrimp core out.

While boil water and you are waiting for the water to boil.

Put slice lemon grass and red onion to the boiling water.

Add the salt and boil them for about 5 minutes.

After that put the shrimp and boil them about 2 minutes and turn stove off.

Put fresh lemon juice, green onion, and hot pepper.

Stir in coconut milk. (optional)

Cook’s Tip: Turn off stove when put fresh lemon juice, green onion, and hot pepper.

Do not cook the shrimp for more than 2 minutes.

Tom-Yum is one of my favorite Thai dishes. My other favorite are Lad-na and Pad Thai. And yes, don't forget Dam Lahong! uhhmmm yummy! ...Tav
