Summer Picnic

What: Summer Picnic

Where: Aquator Park across Highway 10 from school under the water tower

When: Friday June 20 from 8:15 am to 11:45 am

Who: All ESL students, teachers, and volunteers

Why: celebration, promotion, certificate and award presentation, English conversation practice, and fun (games: volleyball, football...)!

Bring food and music from your country. School has silverware and soda.

Lamie Bora

Once upon a time one single mother had two children and one cow. The cow’s name was Lamie Bora. They lived in the countryside. One day mother got sick she told Lamie Bora, ‘’I am going to die very soon. Promise me to take care of my children.” Lamie Bora promised. After that time the mother died. The two boys had a hard time. They didn’t know what to do once they found out Lamie Bora’s promise. They asked Lamie Bora to give them a lot of milk. Every day after that the two boys started selling milk. They had a very good life afterwards.

Gold Fish

In one place near the sea lived an old man with his old wife. Usually this man went to the sea and fished. One time he caught Gold Fish and when he took her she spoke to him. “Please set me free to the Black Sea. I’ll do what you want,” said Gold Fish. He went home and told his wife about this. She said to him, “Go back to the sea and ask the fish to fix my old broken sink.” He went to the sea; and Fish did what he asked for. Grandfather went back to his wife, and she said, “Our house is old. Go! Go to the fish, and ask her for a new one.” He did as she asked. Then Grandmother said that she wanted to be rich. The old man went to the sea, and Gold Fish did as he requested. Then his wife said, “I don’t want to be just rich I want to be the sea queen. And the fish has to be my pet.” Grandfather went to the sea, but it started to storm. He told Gold Fish what his wife wanted, but she only told him, “Go home.” When he came home, he only saw his wife near her old broken sink. Sergey S.

Teotihuacan (Aztecas)

Teotihuacan is a wonderful place to visit. The city is beautiful we have many Pyramids.
You can look amazing mural “The Palace of the Jaguar” of the “Palace the Quetzalcoatl”.
This place is visited by thousands and thousands of people every year. This place is magical, and mystical. All the years many archeologists and architects come to this place, because the Pyramids are amazing.
Teotihuacan we have many places really interesting. “The first is Pyramid the Moon”, the second is the Callejon de los Muertos (street of the dead), and The Pyramid the Sun, this pyramid everybody up and take energy, because the history says, you can touch the sun, because it is really tall.
I think the most important is the Templo Mayor (Temple Mayor).
The food is fantastic and delicious. You can eat typical Mexican food.
This place have many souvenirs, you can buy jewelry, big heat and the Azteca calendar.
I hope many people visit this place is really beautiful and interesting.

Iguaçu Falls (Cataratas do Iguaçu)

Iguaçu Falls is situated in the Interior of the National Park of Iguaçu, PR. It is a very interesting place for visit for many reason, it’s between Brazil and Argentina, it’s almost pour out 13 million liters of water per second; you can relax, to test different food and try many adventures.
This place is very quiet; we can relax and listen to the birds around the park, the river below the waterfalls. There are many places for enjoy the picnic on the river border and see another country, Argentina.
The restaurant in this place has many kinds of foods. For example the special is barbecue, because you may pick and choose you spit-roasted meat and the typical Brazilian dish made with black beans, pork, sausage and vegetables. It’s generally served with chopped cabbage, farofa and orange. An essential accompaniment to this food is Caipirinha, one of the most typical alcoholic beverages of Brazil; it’s prepared with slices or chunks of lemon, cachaca, ice and sugar.
There are many kinds of adventures in the park, we can climb the waterfalls, canoe, ride bicycle around the forest, walk down the park close the river and other many adventures.
It’s a big place of my city, in one year them have almost two thousand people of different cultures.
