A Challenge

My previous challenge was getting married again. It was a mental challenge. I remember 4 years ago when Jim came to my house with his parents to propose in Iran. Proposing is an essential ceremony in my country. My parents were in California. Jim and I talked together about our ideals and goals, but we disagreed on some problems. Then James came back to America. Later on, I came here to visit my parents. When he heard that I was coming, he called me and he inquired me about my purposes. Saying specific information was our tasks. We talked every day. I had to know more about him. It was my second challenge in the U.S. I thought about Jim every day. My friend Mitra told me, " If you want to stay in the U.S., marriage is the easiest way." She believed the U.S. has benefits for me: Green Card ,education and opportunities for my son. The law in the U.S. requires people to have to use legal way. I thought marriage is a legal channel I could use. My parents expected me to stay in the U.S. Making decision to stay or go back was difficult for me. I went to the gym every day, because I knew physical activities were good for releasing stress. I got through the difficult times and I made my decision to marry him. We got married 2 years ago. Now I am thankful for God, we performed our task the best we could. We are a happy couple.
